One of the largest gravel races in the US, run on rolling dirt roads out of Hastings in rural Michigan. Four distances from 18 to 100 miles; the 100-mile Psycho Killer is capped at 400 riders. Registration opens 14 November on BikeReg.

Point-to-point 30-mile mountain bike race from Kalkaska to Timber Ridge Resort in Traverse City, held in early November when snow or cold is common. Amateurs start in waves in the morning, with the pro race later in the day; a shorter Slush Cup is also offered.
